Surgery First Treatment

Sever cases such as bad bites, jaw bone abnormalities and asymmetrical face structure often involve surgical orthodontics. There are two types of treatment, braces-first treatment (wearing braces as a preparation for the surgery) and surgery-first treatment (wearing braces after the surgery).

  • Cons

Requires thorough discussions with specialized orthodontic experts in every step of the treatment, as it is a more aggressive and complicated operation than brace-first surgical treatment. Patients may experience temporary discomfort right after the surgery.

  • Pros

The entire duration of surgery-first treatment is much shorter than that of brace-first treatment. Patients may experience cosmetic improvement as soon as right after the surgery.
